Global Week of Action Against HP: 25 November – 3 December 2016

Help us create HP-free Waltham Forest

We associate Hewlett Packard with laptops and printers, but there is a dark side to the HP business.

In Palestine, Hewlett Packard helps the Israeli army and illegal settlers to maintain an oppressive system of occupation and control over all aspects of the lives of Palestinians.
Israel uses HP technology to deny to the Palestinians freedom of movement on their own land, by providing biometric IDs, fingerprinting, and retinal scanning equipment at hundreds of Israel’s checkpoints, critical to Israel’s ability to maintain segregation and apartheid.

Hewlett-Packard (HP) is one of the largest contractors of the U.S. defence industry which enables Israel’s deadly blockade of the Gaza Strip and provides services to illegal Israeli settlements in the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem.

HP’s dark business is not confined to occupied Palestine. HP companies are notorious for their involvement in oppressive practices worldwide, like providing technology to enable deportations, mass incarceration, and solitary confinement in the United States.

Waltham Forest Palestine Solidarity Campaign (WFPSC) will join the International Week of Actions Against HP.

On the coming Saturday the 26th we will leaflet outside Ryman’s and Argos in Walthamstow market between 11am and 1pm.

Our aim is to ensure that our fellow residents are aware of the real business HP is involved in, and to hopefully create an HP-free Waltham Forest.

At 2pm we will join the London-wide HP protest outside John Lewis in Oxford Street.

Come and join us for a chat, take our publicity and find out more about HP. Sign a pledge to boycott HP for profiting from the violation of human rights.
